This book, which is an individual pen version of the social and historical realities called crime and punishment, was completed in seven years. The relevant book is the English version of the author's doctoral thesis. It is aimed to carry the work to an international level by translating it. Crime and punishment cases examined specifically in Ruse, which was a part of the Balkan geography of the Ottoman period, were examined by taking into account court registers. Studying the concepts of crime and punishment, whose legal, historical and social dimensions were examined together and within the framework of a fiction, was both tiring and enjoyable for the author. In this respect, the author's wish is for this pleasure to pass on to the reader and for the work to open the door to new studies and new questions. The author expresses great pleasure in delivering her work to her readers and declares that she is now out of the way and leaves her work and her readers alone
